Atlantic salmon are integral to Canada’s ecology, economy and culture, but wild populations have been declining for decades. To help turn the tide, Parks Canada is leading a recovery plan that includes an innovative approach called Smolt-to-Adult Supplementation. However, collaboration from others is essential in implementing and evaluating this conservation method.
In this video, we look to Clyburn Brook, located in Cape Breton Highlands National Park, where government, academia and local groups are working together to give endangered salmon a fighting chance.
Conservation takes knowledge, collaboration, and commitment. We’re proud to be part of this effort!
