OTN partnership with Underwater Africa tagging bull sharks in Mozambique
In partnership with OTN, Underwater Africa is investigating bull shark residency, habitat use, and movement patterns in Mozambique’sInhambane Estuary. After a number of fatal attacks over the last two years, and a lack of baseline data on the area’s shark population, the UWAF tracking project aims to provide information on shark movement and behaviour and ultimately reduce harmful human-shark interactions. The Kerguelen Saga continues
Since 2016, OTN and the Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique (INRA) have been collaborating on a study to understand the successful colonization of brown trout introduced to the subantarctic Kerguelen Islands in the 1960s. OTN/Dalhousie PhD student, Xavier Bordeleau, set sail for the Islands in December, continuing to build on this work, while documenting the rhythm of life on the islands through stunning photography and journal updates: Kerguelen saga: part deux — Sailing into the unknown (episode 1)
