The Royal Canadian Geographical Society of Canada has named Dr. Peter Harrison a co-recipient of the Camsell Medal, which bestows recognition upon, and expresses the society’s appreciation to, individuals who have given outstanding service to the society.
Dr. Harrison is a past vice-president of the RCGS and has led the OTN Council in his role as chair since 2013.
Mark Graham, vice-president, research and collections, Canadian Museum of Nature, and Christine Duverger-Harrison, long-serving RCGS volunteer, are co-recipients of the award.
The Camsell Medal, named in honour of the society’s founder, Charles Camsell, was established by the society’s Board of Governors in 1992.
The presentation of the awards will be made by the president at the annual College of Fellows Dinner, Wednesday, November 16.
