Fred Whoriskey, executive director of the Ocean Tracking Network, was discussing a story that went viral this week of researcher Ocean Ramsey, who encountered a massive female great white shark, measuring more than six metres long and about 2.4 metres across, while her team was following tiger sharks feeding on a whale carcass.
“I imagine it would be quite a thrill for them,” Whoriskey said on Wednesday. “The only time that I’ve encountered whites has been (from the safety of) a cage.
