Dr. Martin Castonguay is a marine biologist with Fisheries and
Oceans Canada at Institut Maurice-Lamontagne in Mont-Joli, Québec and an
adjunct professor at both Laval University (Québec) and Université du Québec at
Rimouski. His research interests are diverse and include groundfish spatial
dynamics, pelagic fish recruitment, and oceanic biology of eels. He is an
internationally recognized expert on the biology of eels. He has also developed
expertise with the use of acoustic arrays to examine marine fish stock
structure issues. He has published over 50 articles in scientific journals and
as many technical reports of various types.
