The following volunteer opportunities are currently available working with OTN researchers:

Sea-Run Brook Trout Tagging Study

Dalhousie University PhD candidate Aaron Spares is looking for volunteers to help tag and track sea-run Brook trout, Salvelinus fontinalis, in Antigonish Harbour, Nova Scotia, over the next 2 years. This study involves the capture and release of fish, deployment of anchors and acoustic receivers from a small boat, and collection of trout samples from local fishers. A biology background and field experience is useful, but not necessary. Volunteers must be fit, willing to be outside in all weather and seasons, able to carry equipment for 1-2 kms, and available for a full day (sunrise to sunset). Please email aaron.spares@dal.ca if you are interested. Catcha later!
