Brad Covey is the ocean data manager for OTN and MEOPAR. He manages data from automated sampling platforms including OTN and MEOPAR’s autonomous gliders, profiling buoys, high-frequency radar, and manually operated profilers.
Brad is participating in the creation of a regional ocean data centre for Atlantic Canada and a national data centre for the country. He actively collaborates with the international ocean data management community in the development of standards, software tools, and data harmonization.
His interest in the ocean started at a young age, spending his summers sailing and diving. He has been developing data driven web applications for ten years, starting with personal projects, leading into a series of entrepreneurial ventures and full stack web development consulting.
