Largest federal government university research grant in Atlantic Canadian history

This research is enabled by the largest federal government university research award in Dalhousie — and Atlantic Canadian — history: a $35-million investment by CFI, supplemented by an additional $10 million from NSERC and $327,500 from SSHRC. This investment will leverage in excess of $100 million of in-kind and financial contributions from our OTN partners worldwide.

For Dalhousie to have been successful is a recognition of the timeliness of this research," said then Dalhousie VP (Research) Dr. Carl Breckenridge. "It also recognizes the international expertise of Dalhousie's scientists, particularly the leadership of marine biologist Dr. Ron O'Dor."
